Missing Miles Cycle – Please Support
Date: 8/31/2006
Missing in Ireland Support Service (MISS) is a voluntary Organisation which was established to provide support for families and friends of Missing Persons. One of their aims is to raise public awareness of the problem – this year close to 6,000 people will have been reported to the Gardai as Missing.
Following the success of their 2005 “Missing Miles” in December last they intend to hold another cycle on Saturday and Sunday 14/15th October as part of the public awareness campaign. The event this time, will commence at Naas and travel to Moone where we will remember Jo Jo Dullard. Leaving Moone we will then travel via Athy and Portlaoise to Tullamore to meet Fiona Penders family. There will be an overnight stay in Tullamore. The following day they will head back to Naas via Portarlington, Kildare and Newbridge. During the cycle they will halt briefly at some locations in order to meet the families of long-term missing. They extend an invitation to members of Cycling Clubs throughout Ireland to take part in the event. More information is available atwww.miss.ie. Please support the great work that members of MISS do.
