Missing Migrant Children: Concern
Date: 3/19/2005
In an Irish Time article yesterday it was reported that 58 migrant children have disappeared from Health Board care in just over a year. What is perhaps most shocking is that only 15 of them have been located.
Most of these children arrived into the country unaccompanied and were placed in the care of the Health Board. It is understandable that people are rightly asking questions about what is going on here? How could so many children disappear from the care of the Health Board? Where are these children going? Are there criminal gangs involved in the trafficking of children? What steps are being taken to ensure that more children do not disappear?
Answers and action are needed.
Some of the children are listed on the missing childrens’ website. Please check it as you may recognise them.
