Gathering of Families of the Missing

A special mass will be celebrated at Our Lady’s Island, Co Wexford on Sunday 7th August 2011 at 3 PM. It is being organised by “Searching for the Missing”. The mass and pilgrimage are for the families of the missing. The celebrant will be Fr Aquinas Duffy. All are welcome.

The mass will be open air,weather permitting.This is a day for all families to join together and remember our missing.During the mass families who have someone missing will read poems especially written for the day.There will also be singers and musicians.As the mass ends white homing pigeons are released as a sign of our missing coming home.The vigil will then begin around Our Ladies Island,the cross is carried as pipers play a lament.It is a very moving ceremony and hopefully you can all attend.There will be refreshments afterwards in the local hall.The walk around Our Ladies Island is buggy friendly.
